About the job

Your tasks and responsibilities are diverse:

  • Effective and efficient store merchandise planning and in-store set-up and execution of Carhartt strategies within set (or recurring) deadlines.
  • Support the Marketing manager to manage the visual merchandising budget for EMEA region to include; shops, fixtures, signage, and merchandising assistance.
  • Maintain, nurture and improve partnerships with sales teams in order to create awareness of visual merchandising tools and create brand awareness; works (directly) with key account contacts and related floor staff by effective and regular communications.
  • Create quick wins by identifying opportunities to ensure Carhartt brand presentation and increased floor space at (key) accounts.
  • Plan shop installations at key accounts working with the related Sales team to ensure accurate and timely capture of necessary information including physical space details, specifications, and specific product requirements. This includes evaluating all elements available to maximize the Carhartt presence at retail by development of a floorplan and Concept Renderings. Negotiate space with accounts and maintain Carhartt standards within the shops.
  • Train Carhartt sales teams and third party sales (shop assistants) and merchandising teams on possibilities of brand displays and executes (first) display or restyled displays.
  • Execute and improve existing VM processes and programs for retail merchandising in the markets. Liaises with the US retail team on a regular basis in order to be aware of new/changed programs.
  • Maintain and restyle the Carhartt EMEA showroom and office space.
  • Build an integral knowledge of competitive brand presentations and standards. Present findings to the marketing team and the sales teams.
  • Develop proper reporting for fieldwork, shop install recaps, planogram directives, etc.
  • Develop metrics to show ROI on shop installations.
  • Travel to key accounts throughout Europe on a regular basis, as deemed necessary.

The Visual Merchandiser (VM) is responsible for coordinating and executing visual merchandising efforts in our B2B distribution channels. The VM supports relevant (fixtures, signage) processes and programs and plans shop installations with strategic accounts to maximize Carhartt presence in retail, with a focus on identified B2B key accounts. The VM works closely with the EMEA Sales teams, Operations (purchase & planning), Marketing and Merchandising teams as well as with the relevant (Carhartt Inc US) retail team.   • 2 - 3 years of visual merchandising experience with emphasis in a multi-retailer / manufacturers environment;
  • experience in the apparel industry;
  • uou have a mbo-4 diploma or equivalent working expertise in merchandising, visual design and marketing experience;
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, CAD proficiency;
  • retail floor planning software experience would be great;
  • project management experience is a plus;
  • ability to create and modify retail plan-o-grams;
  • living in Amsterdam (or direct area), Netherlands;
  • willingness to travel within Europe on a regular basis;
  • languages: business level English is required,
  • some German and Dutch (level B) is preferable in view of working with the sales teams and their (local) customers.
