KLABU is building the world’s biggest club. Powering sports for young athletes in refugee camps and beyond with KLABU clubhouses.
KLABU is looking for an Amsterdam Spirit Intern
KLABU supports refugees rebuilding their lives through sports projects in cities and refugee camps. We also create and sell sportswear to raise funds and build a strong community of supporters. The goal: to become the biggest club in the world.
In Amsterdam, our store and clubhouse is the heart of KLABU, it’s what we call the Amsterdam Spirit! This is where we work from, sell our sportswear, organise social activities with our growing community and organise events. It’s home to our community who can stop by for a cup of coffee, to play board games and meet before our weekly workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
About the job
In this role you will assist the project manager with the day to day running of operations of Amsterdam Spirit. Your responsibilities include:
- Helping organise the community and workout activities.
- Hosting community hours prior to the workouts and guiding people to and from the workout location.
- Being a host to the community by making them feel welcome.
- Keeping the clubhouse space organised and clean.
- Joining weekly meetings with the foundation team.
- Occasionally join extra activities like community dinners or football tournaments.

You are open-minded, social and hopefully an extrovert who likes to meet new people, and is not afraid to make the first step to get to know someone and make them feel welcomed. You are super positive and are looking for a purpose-driven internship. You believe in the power of sports and you want to make a difference in the lives of refugees.
Your skills and experience
- Excellent communicator (both speaking and writing) in English (Dutch and other languages are a plus).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- You are available 10 hours a week on Tuesday for a period of minimum 3 months, starting in August / September 2024.
