About the job
Joining a dream team of PR- and Brand Advocacy and social experts to build brand awareness across our target audience in the Benelux. Reporting directly to the Head of Brand, and working alongside the international PR, Brand Advocacy and social team, this role will directly manage and expand our existing network in public relations. Building relationships with editors, creators and brands, and generating genuine brand love and advocacy. Customers, bloggers, influencers and the press love MADE.COM. We’re a design brand with a difference and our own point of view. Since its creation, the brand has developed incredibly strong natural advocacy from all who use our products. We want to channel this brand love and build a global PR strategy that encourages people to share it further. We’re looking for someone with a positive go-getting personality who’s already got great relationships with editors, brands and creators across the Benelux, is always on the lookout for new potential collaborations (not restricted to the homewares category) and knows how to approach and forge new partnerships. Reporting into the Head of Brand for the Benelux, with a dotted line to the Head of Consumer PR, Social and Brand Advocacy you will be required to: Press office
- Take responsibility for the delivery of and smooth running of project work – whether from central PR hub or Benelux-specific projects
- Ensure smooth and accurate reporting (on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis) – an awareness of the direct sales as well as brand awareness generated by press and social coverage
- Oversee product press loans from the Amsterdam showroom and keep a detailed record of what is coming and going
Media
- Take responsibility for being the first point of contact for media most relevant for MADE.COM and oversee all press office enquiries
- Be able to confidently sell in complex stories to journalists and to be able to tailor a media story to the agenda and style of different media outlets
- Take a proactive role in media outreach, ensuring you are regularly meeting a range of journalists, bloggers and influencers for coffees and lunches to foster strong, working relationships
- Maintain ongoing contact with those journalists, to the benefit of MADE.COM
- Keep an up to date media contacts database with all journalists, bloggers and influencers
Communication
- Organise events for stakeholders to drive and develop the MADE.COM brand in the Benelux
- Develop and support a culture of information sharing and good internal communication. Ensure that all members of your team are aware of all activity on your accounts at all times
- Be accountable for the quality and accuracy of written work being sent on behalf of MADE.COM. This includes reports and all external documents, from press releases and media alerts to briefing documents, statements and Q&As
Digital
- Understand the similarities and differences between traditional media and online - how they can complement and feed each other
- Build a network of contacts: identifying and contacting key online influencers
- Follow and be able to report on the social media agenda and social media communication opportunities for MADE.COM
Project Management
- Manage and meet all deadlines, both internal and external
- Be accountable for the smooth running of individual projects, events and MADE.COM press office
- Be responsible for all aspects of reporting, both internally and externally.
- Manage both upwards and downwards on projects to ensure that all aspects of activity are running to a precise timeline
Dit is wie je bent
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years or more PR experience
- Demonstrable experience project managing PR/Partnerships/Brand activities and events
- Passion for our product with an interest in design and furniture
- Ability to build strong working relationships with creative, content teams, agents & key stakeholders within the business
- Solution orientated and unafraid to try new ways of doing things
- Passionate about content marketing and creativity; a good understanding of the power of content and creativity to drive consumer behaviour
- Ability to negotiate mutually beneficial deals
- Embedded in Millennial and Gen Z behaviours and attitudes
- A sense of humour and a passion for our brand
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (You need to tell great stories every day)
- Dutch native speaker, with excellent knowledge of English (both verbally and written)
- Ability to take initiative and prioritise workloads to ensure all relevant deadlines are met
- Entrepreneurial, energetic and self-motivated
