Our House, the world’s first modern museum of electronic music culture, is opening this fall.
Located in Amsterdam, Our House is a high-tech experience paying homage to international electronic music culture. Far from a regular museum outing, Our House brings you on a futuristic and innovative journey. This multisensory, audio-visual exhibit will take you through electronic music’s origins and its transformation telling the journey of the music genre from a rebellious underground community evolving into a global cultural phenomenon.

As the Content Creator, you share responsibility for all marketing content for the museum, the academy and the publishing house/concept store Mary Go Wild.
Our House content has to meet an end goal – and we’re using the word “content” pretty loosely here. Today, content could be a series of videos or animated GIFs on Instagram. Tomorrow it might be a merchandise collection that needs airing via Twitter. Regardless of type, the end goal of your assignment is always to produce good-looking assets that represent the museum’s brand by telling our story. You will be responsible for the creation of all content based on the predetermined content strategy while ensuring brand consistency across the board.
First of all, you need to have some knowledge of (y)our culture, which is electronic music culture. Do you need to know upfront that Larry Levan paved the way for Frankie Knuckles? Or that the first time the Belleville Three actually played together live was at the 10-year anniversary of Awakenings Festival? Or how the 2004 Olympics inspired Martin Garrix?
Although it would be a plus if you’ve read “Die Nacht Is Leben” by the infamous Sven Marquardt, but no worries if not. Some of our colleagues will passionately quote from it on a daily basis.
We would prefer candidates with some sort of experience under their belt, but this doesn’t mean you need to have a long CV. Experience comes in all shapes and forms, so any stacked portfolio will suffice. Some other requirements we’re looking for in our content creator:
- You have a deep understanding of how major social media platforms operate (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Tik Tok, etc.) and you are familiar with each platform’s features in order to achieve maximum impact and reach.
- You know your way around Adobe Creative Suite or any other creation & editing software (photo, video, design, animation).
- You do not have a 9 to 5 mentality. More like a 10 to 6. You don’t mind working nights or weekends if needed. And we fully expect you to compensate those hours when possible (you will need some time to catch up on sleep).
- You are flexible with deadlines in the sense that you’ll meet them, whatever it takes.
Content Creator is a full-time (40hrs) position, preferably in-house at our office in Amsterdam.
