At VanMoof we’re obsessed with cities. So are our bikes. Truly city-proof, they shrink long commutes, defend themselves against thieves, battle hills and headwinds, and make you feel like a straight-up superhero. We ride outside of the box, designing parts from scratch and integrating groundbreaking tech to create the smartest, sleekest bikes around. It all started in Amsterdam, the city cycling capital of the world. But these days, VanMoof riders zip their way through Tokyo, Berlin, San Francisco, London, Paris, Taipei, and an exploding number of cities around the globe. Our philosophy is simple – if it doesn't help you outsmart your city, then we don't do it.
About the job
VanMoof bikes are already ridden across the world, but we want to get even more people in the saddle by sharing our disruptive vision even further. As PR Specialist, you’ll become our in-house PR expert for the Benelux. You’ll be responsible for building quality press relations, securing reviews at top-tier publications, selecting and working with the right influencers, and developing and executing innovative PR projects that get more bums on bikes. Next to that, you’ll lead the way in getting us noticed at top-tier global tech events. You’ll need to have the drive and initiative to build on our PR track record, making serious waves with game-changing ideas. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate reviews for top Benelux tech press, arranging bike deliveries, pickups and on-demand assistance to make sure they enjoy a first-class VanMoof experience.
- Build long-lasting relationships with the creative tastemakers in your market – turning these influencers into brand ambassadors.
- Select tech events that VanMoof should be a part of in the Netherlands and beyond – and create interesting opportunities for us to be present there.
- Review and distribute PR releases and press kits with major Benelux publishers, making sure they get to the best people possible.
- Expand our black book of press contacts and influencers, understanding their topics of interest so we only pitch the most relevant VanMoof news to them.
- Monitor, track and report media coverage and press clippings.
- Keep an eye on trends, movements, and influencers that can help us in our mission to get the next billion on bikes.
Dit is wie je bent
- 2+ years of relevant experience working in a Dutch PR environment.
- Amsterdam-based, and available for international travel.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, with a knack for spotting (big) opportunities and making them happen.
- Excellent English and Dutch skills, both written and spoken, with bonus points for other languages.
