Visual Designer at Momkai
At Momkai, we create meaningful member experiences online and in the real world — from design strategy and brand identities to digital platforms and product launches. To provide a more solid and sincere route to sustainability for mission-driven organizations around the globe. We design member experiences for organizations such as the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), Adyen, and New York University. We also create memberful initiatives from scratch, such as ad-free journalism platform De Correspondent, the Embassy of Good Science for the European research community, and the Oncode Institute for cancer research. Our design philosophy is to cultivate calm, so that only the content can drive you to distraction. We design holistic experiences, from timeless brand identities to inventive audio apps. We also cultivate calm as a team, which keeps us kind, constructive, and creative. In 2016, we introduced our philosophy of cultivating calm at the Stedelijk Museum of modern art in Amsterdam.
About the job
We are looking for a talented Visual Designer to create meaningful experiences, platforms, and brands with us. You love to dive into a community and help its members to better engage with each other. Simply put, you’re a designer who really likes to help others to find their way. You will work closely with other designers and experts on the team. To create holistic experiences together, grounded in strong guiding principles. As a visual designer, you are used to designing presentations, making guidelines, and presenting work to clients. With thoughtful details to inspire the members of the organizations we work with. Both in digital and print. At Momkai, you will be part of an independent design studio — and will be welcomed by a close-knit team, who will do anything in their power to make you feel at home.

- At least 2 years of experience — as a visual designer
- Finished a design study — at bachelor level or higher
- Hands-on — receptive to feedback
- Eye for detail — with a focus on clear concepts
- Helping others grow — offer guidance to interns
- Member focused — design with the members in mind
- Proficient in English — speaking Dutch is helpful
- Design tools knowledge — Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote
- Optional skills — After Effects, Adobe Premiere or 3D software
