About the job

About the job MR MARVIS is looking for an experienced interim HR Business Partner (24-40h, depending on availability) to work on specific strategic projects but also assisting with HR Operations, to cover our Head of People during her maternity leave for at least 6 months, if possible per direct, or no later than November 2022. One of our challenges whilst growing is the complexity of managing and scheduling our workforce in the most effective way. This challenge applies mainly to our flex workers, specifically to our Customer Experience as well as Retail Team. Planning, time reporting, communicating, budgeting, forecasting, accounting etc. is now all happening manually which is very time consuming, not the most effective way and the chance of human errors is too high - especially considering the fast growth of MR MARVIS. Also, our current accountant will stop assisting us after 6 years due to the fact that our payroll administration has outgrown his capacity. Therefore, we are looking for a solution to centralise our efforts (e.g. a Workforce Management Software) that helps us to reduce labour costs, remain compliant, and improve workforce efficiency. Simultaneously, we’re looking into a new payroll system (currently using Exact) and to outsource the majority of our salary administration. You will do so in close collaboration with the Head of Finance and the COO. Next to that, you will be managing our HR Generalist as well as Office Manager. Together you will build a strong HR forefront, working closely together on future people strategy- and team within MR MARVIS. This position is based at our headquarters in Amsterdam, close to the Amstel Hotel. What you'll do This role requires a high level of autonomy. Overall, you will be responsible for any HR related inquiries on a strategic but also operation level (with the assistance of the HR Generalist). You will be able to work on a variety of high level projects, to make the business more efficient and scalable on the People front. Depending on your expertise and availability projects could include but are not limited to; Priority/ Must-Do Projects

  • Moving our payroll efforts to a new provider/ system (in collaboration with Head of Finance and COO)
  • Implementation of a software that keeps track hour administration, feeds the payroll system and is capable of managing mutations.

Other Projects

  • Either optimising our current HRIS (Appogee) or proposing and implementing a new one;
  • Moving to a high performance culture whilst implementing regular feedback moments and coming up with scalable learning & development solutions for the team for example “MR MARVIS Academy”;
  • Setting up a solid hiring structure as well as a plan for 2023 whilst improving our existing recruitment tools/processes that allow us to hire and retain top talent;
  • Build a career progression framework which gives employees a clear idea on their current level within the business, focus and improvement areas as well as opportunities to grow;
  • Optimising our company benefits offering and total reward structure, driving employee happiness with main focus on implementing a Employee Share Scheme.
  • Compliance and handling of topics related to (international) labour law, collective labour agreement (CAO), and occupational health policy (Arbobeleid);

What you'll bring

  • Relevant degree and experience (minimum 5 years) within similar role (e.g. Head of People, HR Manager, HR Business Partner, etc.) ;
  • Affinity with the above mentioned priority projects is considered a strong plus;
  • Basic knowledge of Netherland’s employment legislation/ compliance laws and market practices and favourably additional knowledge for other countries;
  • Able to work autonomously;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Approachable, sociable, and empathetic;
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken;
  • Experience in a fast growing (international) organisation / scale up is a plus.
