GQ is launching in the Netherlands with one clear ambition: to become the most culturally relevant and commercially successful men’s brand in the market. This is a rare opportunity to build an international powerhouse locally, from the ground up. As Brand Director, you will shape the identity, growth, and impact of GQ Netherlands across platforms.

GQ was founded in New York in 1957 and grew into a global authority in men’s fashion, culture, and luxury. Its iconic covers typically feature the most influential names of the moment, including Paul Mescal, Travis Kelce, Timothée Chalamet, and Michael B. Jordan. The annual Men of the Year event is regarded in every GQ market as a major cultural moment.

About the job

You will build and grow GQ Netherlands into the leading men’s brand across print, digital, membership, and live experiences—combining strong commercial foundations with cultural authority and editorial integrity.

You will lead GQ Netherlands as a modern, multi-platform brand that shapes conversation, builds community, and sets the agenda for men’s style, culture, and lifestyle in the Netherlands.

What You’ll Do

Brand Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the overall brand strategy, aligned with global GQ direction and local relevance
  • Own brand positioning across print, digital, social, partnerships, and live experiences
  • Act as the strategic lead across commercial, marketing, and audience development

Commercial Growth & Partnerships

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth through premium advertisers and strategic partnerships
  • Expand GQ’s footprint across luxury fashion, lifestyle, culture, and innovation
  • Develop new business lines, including membership models and experiential franchises

Membership & Audience Expansion

  • Build and scale a membership model that drives loyalty, community, and recurring revenue
  • Grow print and digital influence through platform innovation and compelling storytelling
  • Expand reach through social video, collaborations, and new formats

Data-Driven Growth with Editorial Integrity

  • Use insights, performance data, and KPIs to guide decision-making and strategy
  • Define success metrics in close collaboration with the Publisher
  • Safeguard GQ’s editorial standards while scaling the business

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and develop a growing team across Digital, Marketing, and Sales
  • Build a high-performance culture rooted in ambition, trust, and collaboration
  • Create a safe, open environment where talent feels supported, challenged, and seen

Experience & Requirements
