Wij zijn Bon Ton Toys- de duurzame plush makers uit Amsterdam. Wij bestaan sinds 1933 en zijn nog altijd volop in ontwikkeling met ons eigen merk B.T. Chaps. Daarnaast hebben wij de internationale licentie voor WWF plush en de welbekende Bon Ton Toys Nijntje en hebben wij net een start gemaakt met Bon Ton Toys Peanuts [Snoopy]. Wij positioneren ons in het premium segment, opereren in meer dan 50 landen en werken met de vooraanstaande internationale retailers als Bon Marche, De Bijenkorf, Kadewe, ARKET, Harrods, Liberty London, Moma New York en nog vele meer.
Sustainability Internship at International Bon Ton Toys
We’ve been making plush since 1933, but never “just toys.” Our plush are comfort objects, mini artworks, lifelong friends.
As a certified B Corp and 1% for the Planet member, we create design-driven, sustainable plush with purpose. From Miffy to Smiley, from Peanuts to WWF, and our own Bon Ton Toys plush. Everything we make has a soul.
You’ll find our sustainable plushies under our own Bon Ton Toys label, as well as beloved collections for Miffy (Nijntje), Peanuts (Snoopy), WWF and Smiley. Loved by children, grown-ups and collectors alike, they travel the world and are now found in 42 countries. Small in size, big in mission.
About the job
Are you driven by sustainability, compliance, and impact? Bon Ton Toys is looking for a Sustainability & Compliance Intern (32–40 hours per week) to support our sustainability team with a strong focus on B Corp recertification and ECGT (Environmental, Climate & Governance Transparency) requirements.
In this role, you will actively contribute to assessing whether the company aligns with current and upcoming legal sustainability requirements, identify gaps, and support improvement actions where needed. You will also play a key role in preparing for B Corp recertification under the updated standards. As we are a relatively small team, you will be given real responsibility and meaningful, hands-on experience.
The internship runs for 20 weeks, starting September ‘26, with 4-5 working days per week, of which 2–3 days are office-based at our headquarters in Amsterdam.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the B Corp recertification process, including work on the B Impact Assessment and evidence collection.
- Conducting the assessment of ECGT requirements and evaluating company alignment with applicable sustainability laws and regulations.
- Identifying gaps between current practices, legal requirements, and voluntary standards, and helping propose improvement actions.
- Collecting, structuring, and validating sustainability data from internal teams and external suppliers.
- Contributing to the drafting and review of sustainability-related documentation and reporting.
- Collaborating with different departments to ensure consistent and accurate sustainability information.
- Supporting internal awareness through workshops, training sessions, or internal communications on sustainability and compliance topics.
Dit is wie je bent
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Law, or a related field.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Interest in sustainability regulation, corporate responsibility, and compliance.
- Proactive, structured, and comfortable working independently.
- Able to work with complex requirements and translate them into practical actions.
- Interest in digital tools, data analysis, and AI (e.g. ChatGPT) is an advantage.
