We're an Amsterdam-based team of 19 (and counting) with 10+ nationalities amongst us – a varied bunch of “Citizens of The World” with a range of cool skills and hundreds of thousands of kilometers under our travel belts. We also have something important in common (other than our very well-worn passports): We want to change the way people travel. And that's exactly what we're doing, with the travel app to plan, track, and remember trips in a smart and beautiful way. Polarsteps has over 3 million users already, but, for us, this is just the start. You see, there are amazing new features on our roadmap, and we need even more talented & ambitious people to help us on our journey. So, are you ready for your next adventure?
About the job
Editorial internship at Polarsteps As an editorial intern, you'll be supporting our editorial team in creating our soon-to-be-launched destination guides, the beating heart of our brand-new planning feature. Polarsteps Guides are a collection of the world’s best travel destinations and insider tips — putting the most exciting, glorious, weird, interesting, quirky, adrenaline-filled places and experiences into travelers' hands (and pockets). Tips are created by our adventure-loving team of editors, as well as including recommendations from our worldly Polarsteps users. Our constant innovation is done with a clear aim: to turn Polarsteps into the best travel app out there – which is probably why Google created this awesome video about us, and we've been featured multiple times in the App Store, as well as in Apple’s WWDC keynote speeches of 2017 and 2018. All of this, of course, puts a massive smile on our face, but we're nowhere near done (and you could be a part of it). What you'll do As part of our fast-growing editorial team (eight and counting!), you'll support our travel editors in creating new Guides and keeping existing Guides up to date. This means researching destinations and updating spots in our Guides, curating tips and photos shared by the Polarsteps community, and writing premium copy. You'll also spend a couple of days per week supporting other teams in the company, such as People & Operations, Community & Support, and our Creative team. During this 5 month-long internship, you'll get a really clear picture of what it's like to work for a travel tech scale-up and hands-on experience creating awesome content.

You will be valued for
- Being a 3rd or 4th-year bachelor student or a master student, currently enrolled in a college or university study program and eligible to do an internship in the Netherlands;
- Being a talented writer and having a focus on writing and/or editing in your studies;
- Having a very high standard of English and impeccable grammar (minimal level C1);
- Having a true passion for travel and researching destinations online;
- Being available for 4 or 5 days a week, starting September 1st 2021.

- We value your contribution to Polarsteps and therefore you'll get a €400,- internship allowance per month, based on 5 days a week.
Please note:
- Since we want to see our lovely team's faces in the office most of the time, we are only accepting candidates who live within a reasonable traveling distance of Amsterdam.
- We're looking for interns who are willing to work in a full-time capacity (32+ hours a week), so unfortunately we cannot accept students who want to do a graduation assignment.
